Ray Taylor is a 19 year wireless industry veteran and most recently served as Executive in Residence at Storm Ventures in Menlo Park, CA. Previously, Ray was Executive Director of the Consumer Multimedia Products group at Verizon Wireless. Having responsibility for both Product Development and Product Management, Ray's efforts delivered a series of industry firsts (first BREW-based downloadable service, GetItNow®; the first MMS service in the U.S.; Mobile Web 2.0; a graphically rich WAP 2.0 portal; the first fully-integrated Mobile IM service; the first 3G services in the U.S. under the VCAST brand; RingBackTones and the introduction of Flash Mobile).
These services now account for billions of dollars in annual revenue. Ray has held both Engineering and Marketing positions within Verizon Wireless and Bell Atlantic Mobile spanning 16 years of service. As a founding member of AlterEgo Networks he helped launch the company in 2000 as Vice President and Wireless Evangelist.
Ray currently serves as an Advisor to several innovative technology companies: Sharpcast, MobileIron, Mobilians International, and Mobideos.
Peter has been leading the development of wireless and mobile applications for more than 10 years. Prior to Mobopia, Peter co-founded Alchemic Solutions, a mobile technology solutions consulting company, with clients including Sprint, Verizon, Qualcomm, Samsung, ACCESS, and Openwave. He was previously a senior executive at ACCESS Co., Ltd., where he directed the mobile product development team in the successful deployment of the ACCESS NetFront browser on Sanyo, Motorola, IBM and Palm handsets in North and South America. Peter has held senior software development management roles in various start-ups and was a member of the development team at Geoworks that successfully deployed the world's first smartphone, the Nokia 9000 Communicator. Peter holds a BS, EE from UC Berkeley.
Mark brings over 10 years of hands-on development leadership from the software industry. Previous to Mobopia, Mark co-founded Alchemic Solutions, a mobile technology solutions consulting company, with clients including Sprint, Verizon, Qualcomm, Samsung, ACCESS and Openwave. Earlier Mark was a founder at Proximex. As the chief architect, Mark was responsible for BioWatch, an advanced enterprise-level security and surveillance software. Prior to that, he was an engineering manager at NetIQ, responsible for delivering AppManager, a mission-critical enterprise management solution. Mark has a BS, EE from UC Berkeley.
Prior to Mobopia, John was a Vice President of Business Development and Marketing for Alchemic Solutions, a mobile technology solutions consulting company, with clients including Sprint, Verizon, Qualcomm, Samsung, ACCESS and Openwave. Before joining Alchemic, John pursued another of his passions, and worked as Assistant Winemaker at the Picchetti Winery, located in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Previously, John was a Senior Director of Product Development for Geoworks, managing the Wireless Content and Services and GEOS Operating System product groups at two design centers, Alameda, CA and Manchester, UK. Earlier John served as a Senior Product Manager at AT&T Consumer Interactive Services, responsible for PersonaLink, AT&T's first consumer-oriented Internet service offering. John received a BS, Business Marketing from San Diego State University.
Giora has led the launch and deployment of multiple lines of products in early stage startups and in large organizations. At LRN, as vice president of product development, Giora managed the development and deployment of web-based compliance management offerings resulting in 100% increase of customer base (to 6 million users). At Elance as VP of engineering, Giora had overall responsibility for product definition, product development and operations of Elance's line of products in services procurement management. Giora successfully oversaw the launch and deployment of these new lines of products in record time (18 months) to Fortune 500 companies (GE, Motorola, Federal Express, Capital One and others). Earlier, Giora was chief technology officer and vice president of engineering at Epylon (acquired by Accenture), where he managed all engineering and technology initiatives for Epylon's marketplace providing procurement services to state and government agencies. Giora also served as an executive at Oracle, where he was responsible for launching Oracle's supply chain product in the consumer packaged goods market, and at TRW, where he managed the development and deployment of embedded real time systems, network protocols and middleware. Giora holds an M.A. in mathematics and operations research from the University of Tel Aviv, Israel.
Bringing more than 17 years business development and sales experience to Mobopia, Jim has been responsible for the software licensing, business development and strategic alliances for several leading internet technology providers who have developed revolutionary embedded technologies widely used in the telecom and wireless markets. At Teleca, a leading mobile and wireless systems integration and consulting firm, Jim managed the North American sales efforts as VP of Global Sales and helped the company sign lucrative licensing and consulting agreements with tier one device manufacturers, developed direct wireless operator engagements, as well as meet and exceed its' profit expectations. Previous to this as VP Sales and Business Development, Jim led the America's sales efforts with Japanese software platform provider, ACCESS, a global provider of advanced software technologies to the mobile and beyond-PC markets, licensing browser and related embedded technology to OEMs, operators, and silicon vendors. Prior to ACCESS, Jim directed the marketing and business development efforts for the embedded and Internet appliance line of business at Phoenix Technologies, leading efforts to build one of the industry's first complete 'internet in a box' software platforms for the vertical and embedded device markets. With extensive international business experience, Jim has held various sales management, business development, field engineering, as well as strategic and technical marketing roles during his career, including three years living and working in Japan. Jim holds a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona.
